The first PTEI Factory was established in Puncak, West Java and production started in 1971. At the same time, Plant Research Garden/Kebun Percobaan Tjianjur (KPT) established in Cianjur. While to comply environmental licensing in Puncak Area, PTEI Factory moved to Citereup, Bogor in 1987. Later on, when KPT closed all the herbs collection was donated to LIPI Herbarium, Bogor.
