Lymphatic Filariasis in Indonesia

Press Release of hhc Donation for Lymphatic Filariasis Patients and Cadres (October 24th 2020)

"Thank You for the donation which provided by PT Eisai Indonesia (PTEI), I was greatly helped by this donation, because during the pandemic Covid-19 I could no longer work" - one of the Lymphatic Filariasis (LF) patient.

Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia and PTEI have always actively participated in Bulan Eliminasi Kaki Gajah (BELKAGA) program which is celebrated every October. In accordance to the London Declaration, PTEI is committed to producing 2.2 billion tablets Diethylcarbamazine Citrate (DEC) with high-quality, which is distributed through WHO and freely given to Lymphatic Filariasis (LF) endemic countries. PTEI has received prequalification from WHO to produce LF medicinal drugs used to combat Neglated Tropical Diseases (NTD). And PTEI is the first pharmaceutical company in the world to receive the prequalification.1

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the BELKAGA program cannot be implemented this year. However, to always show the cares, so PTEI giving donations to LF patients and cadres in the form of safety kit and groceries with a total of fifty (50) packages in the Cibinong/Bogor as one of the LF endemic areas.

With this donation, PTEI hopes to ease the burden of LF patients and cadres so they can always enthusiastic in providing services to the community amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
